About Me
OK… don’t really like talking too much about myself but I’ve been told that it comes with the whole territory.
My name is Scott Saad. I work for EWS Group, LLC (d.b.a. Mover’s Suite Software) as a Code Monkey, aiming to proliferate good software development choices throughout the organization. I’ve been working here for 5 years now and am having a great time working on all sorts of interesting projects (primarily in the Microsoft technology space).
Prior to my work at Mover’s Suite Software I worked for another startup, Anark, where I absorbed so much amazing software development goodness from people that are the best of the best. I was mainly working on cutting edge 3D graphics programming as a software engineer and later moved into a lead programmer for one of the teams. The experience was absolutely invaluable to my career and have been able to apply everything that I learned to my current job.
What else?
I would like to consider myself an agile developer as extreme programming has been part of my career for all but the early years. Not to say I’m not open to other philosophies but wow… there is just so much common sense behind the agile approach to software development.
I enjoy exploring different ways to solve problems. I’m a firm believer that being a problem solver is what separates great engineers from the good ones. I’m not saying that I’m “great” by any means. However, as time goes on, the realization that keeping up with the fast paced changes in technology/tools becomes much less overwhelming when one finally learns “how to think”. When we attempt to master this, a heightened awareness starts to creep into our subconsciousness and we can begin to experience a much more natural approach in our ability to help solve problems.
I truly enjoy cycling and mountain biking and try to limit my automotive dependency as much as possible. I live in a place some might consider a mecca of biking. I feel fortunate for that.
